Align your team’s culture, trust, belonging, and performance to build a healthier, higher-performing organization.

Let's Explore Your Challenges

Every workplace faces unique retention and engagement challenges. Let's discuss what's getting in the way of keeping your best people.

Is your workplace undermining the people you worked hardest to recruit?

The warning signs are easy to dismiss until they show up in your bottom line.

  • High-potential candidates rejecting your offers?

  • Talented employees leaving?

  • Promising leaders losing momentum?

These problems aren’t isolated. They reveal contradictions between an organization’s ideals and its everyday practices.

Workplace problems become harder to solve when no one can name what is happening.

Dr. Kecia Thomas gives leaders the research, language, and practical insight to understand complex workplace dynamics and act with courage.

An industrial-organizational psychologist and diversity scientist, Dr. Thomas is the lead psychologist behind Pet to Threatâ„¢. This groundbreaking framework explains how high-potential marginalized employees, including women of color, can simultaneously experience celebration and exploitation, as well as promotion and alienation, at work.

Her expertise has been sought by Amazon, PepsiCo, Capital One, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She has also worked with universities, school districts, and healthcare organizations.

Your values and workplace practices should tell the same story.

Organizations often know what they want to become. They want strong leaders, cultures that center trust, talented teams, and sustainable performance.

But stated values do not shape the employee experience on their own. Leadership decisions, informal norms, advancement systems, and daily practices reveal what an organization truly values and rewards.

When those practices contradict an organization’s ideals, talented people notice. Trust erodes. High performers disengage or leave. Inclusion efforts lose credibility. Performance suffers.

Dr. Kecia Thomas helps leaders recognize these contradictions and understand why they matter. Her work translates organizational psychology research into clear, practical insight leaders can use.

Together, you examine what is happening beneath the visible problem. You identify the people, practices, and systems shaping the outcome. Then you make better decisions about what must change.

The result is not a performative initiative. It is a healthier organization where talented people can do their best work, grow, and succeed.

The Pet to Threatâ„¢ Reset

What happens when workplace celebration becomes workplace alienation?

Pet to Threatâ„¢ explains how high-potential marginalized employees, including women of color, can be welcomed and celebrated early in their careers, then treated as threatening as their authority and influence grow.

The framework gives leaders language for patterns that often remain unnamed. It changes how organizations understand retention, sponsorship, advancement, exploitation, alienation, and bias at the highest levels.

The Pet to Threatâ„¢ Reset is a group coaching circle that helps leaders recognize those patterns, evaluate how these unwanted identities were created, and develop a strategy that prioritizes career growth and well-being.
